Michael Zell checks in from the Yale Percussion Group

Michael Zell, one of the current members of the Yale Percussion Group, was kind enough to comment on my post about their concert back in February. And, kind enough to share his YouTube channel where you can watch Dressur by Mauricio Kagel in its entirety, in three parts. To whet your appetite, the first part is below. One of the many highlights is the body percussion that starts at around 2:55. (I think that’s Michael baring and beating his chest for his art.) I highly recommend watching the whole piece – not quite like seeing it live but worth your time if you want to see creativity of the highest order.

And for today’s bonus link – the Yale School of Music Facebook page. Updated frequently with music news and events.
