What causes hunger?


For those of us who live in developed and reasonably secure environments, it’s hard to imagine what life without access to food is like. How can we? In the US we have so much food we can throw away 40% of what we produce!

How, when we are surrounded by such plenty, can there be parts of the world where there is such need? Why are so many people hungry?

This wonderfully illustrated video by Denis van Waerebeke explains it in simple, logical terms that even I could understand.
